Printing demonstration labels (test data)

Printing demonstration labels (test data)

Before printing live labels, you can use demonstration labels to test your setup and make sure everything is working as expected.

This feature lets you preview and print labels using test data, without affecting any live orders or real customer information.

Printing demonstration labels is highly recommended when setting up for the first time, before your first service day, or after changing printers or printer settings.

Step-by-step: Printing demonstration labels

1. Log into the Shop site

2. From your Deliveries Dashboard or the Order Status and Reporting page (Quick view tab) , select View and print labels

3. Leave the Order date as today or select any date - the demonstration preview will still work on any date

4. Select a Label type
(You must select a label type before the demo preview option becomes available)

5. Tick Preview labels (demo data) and select Search

Label Preview

A label preview will appear once you've selected Search.

In this example, the preview shows the Order labels (8 per page, A4 PDF), based on the selected label type.

    1. Demonstration labels use test data only
    2. Item names are clearly marked as Demo
    3. Demo student names will always be the same regardless of selected label format
    4. School and supplier logos are not shown on demonstration labels - these will show on live labels

Continue once the preview is displayed

6.  Select Export to download the demonstration labels

7. Select Print to print the demonstration labels and confirm the layout and printer settings are correct before your service day

Label format options

Ezlunch and Kindo provide several label formats to suit different packing and delivery needs. Each format controls how many labels appear per page and how much information is included on each label.

When choosing a label format, consider:

  • How many items you need to pack

  • The size and layout of your label sheets

Some formats display more labels per page with less detail, while others display fewer labels per page with additional information.

You can use demonstration labels to preview each format and decide which works best for your setup before printing live labels.

Order labels (8 per page, A4 PDF)

  • 8 labels per A4 page, ordered by room number

  • Each label shows the student name, room, items purchased, and allergy alerts

  • Larger orders may generate multiple labels for the same student

  • Use A4 8-per-page Avery labels or print to A4 on your laser printer and cut the labels

Item labels (33 per page, A4 PDF)

  • 33 labels per A4 page (OfficeMax 33 or Avery L7157)

  • One item (or quantity of a single item) per label

  • Items are grouped by menu category, then item, then room number

  • Logos are not displayed

1 order per page (A4 PDF)

  • One full order per A4 page

  • Includes student details, order date, items, options, and choices

  • Best suited for longer or more detailed orders

All details (A4 PDF)

  • Multiple orders per A4 page

  • Groups the same items together and includes question responses, options, and choices
