When creating a new payable in Kindo, you'll need to complete several
important sections to ensure proper setup. This guide walks you through
each section.
General

Payable Name (Required):
- The system will automatically combine the "Year" and "Label" to form the payable name that is displayed to caregivers
- For example: Year "2024" + Label "Swimming Trip" = "2024 Swimming Trip"
- A preview of the name is displayed under the textbox

Payable Category:
- The dropdown menu will allow you to choose an existing category or you can start typing to create a new category
- Categories are used for organizing your Payables and determining which staff members can view them

Description:
- Use this field to provide more information about the payable
- The text editor offers several formatting options, including bullet points, numbered lists, bold and italic text, and hyperlinks.
Accounting

GL Code (Required):
- Enter your General Ledger code (e.g., SPO124, DON001)
- Only visible in reports, not to caregivers

Additional Detail:
- This can include notes about the Payable's purpose or any specific instructions relevant to financial tracking.
- For example: "Term 1 Netball registrations - GST included."

Tax & Price
Total price (Required):
- Enter the total price for the Payable item
- This is the amount caregivers will be charged

Tax:
- This field allows you to choose how GST is applied to the item
- Choose Includes GST (15%) for most Payable items such as sports fees, uniforms and stationery etc.
- Choose Tax exempt when creating items such as donations and other non-taxable items
