Adding questions for Kindo Payables

Adding questions for Kindo Payables

Access: Menu Administrator

You can add questions or permissions to Kindo Payables items to create an online form.
NOTE: if you will be taking payments via POS as well as via Kindo Shop you will need to ensure you capture the answers to the form questions at point of payment (via a hard copy form at point of sale).

How to create a form in Kindo Payables

1. On the partner site, select item editor and ensure you are operating as the correct supplier.

2. Select the Kindo Payables category (this should already have been set up for you).

3. Click Add new item, or select Edit item by clicking on the pencil icon next to an existing item you need to add questions to.

You can sort your Items according to items name or GL Code.

4. This will bring up the Item Editing screen.

5. Under
Form Questions, where it says Add, enter your Question ID. This will not be visible to users - it is for your internal reporting only and will be the column header in your reports.

6. Under Question enter your question or statement - this is what the user will see and respond to.

7. Select your Answer type from the three options in the drop-down menu:
* Text - provides space for a typed answer.
* Date - only accepts a date (useful for Date of Birth).
* Yes/No - the user has to select either yes or no.

8. Tick to make the question Compulsory, or leave blank if not compulsory. If this is ticked, the user must answer the question to be able to add the item to their cart.

9. Use the grab handles to the left of the questions to change their order by dragging up or down.

10. Once you are happy with the questions you have added, select Save & Publish to make visible on your Kindo Shop site.  You can then go and apply the payable as needed.

Dealing with part payments

If you add questions to an item that allows part payments (which is the default option for all Kindo Payables), the same questions will appear every time the user makes a payment. If those questions are marked as compulsory the user will be required to answer them every time.

If you want to turn off the part payment option you will need to contact our Helpdesk so they can action that for you.

If you do not want to turn off part payments, the work-around is to create TWO items, e.g. Camp Deposit (for a deposit and all the questions) and Camp Payments (for the rest of the flexible part payments). Set them up as follows:

1) Deposit - set this up with no part-payments allowed (ring the Kindo Helpdesk to turn off part payments), and add questions and permissions, e.g. Water Safety 2021 - deposit

2)
Payments - set this up with part-payments allowed and no questions attached, e.g. Water Safety 2021 - payments

This means that parents can make part-payments on the remainder of the amount, without having to answer the questions each time.
