Setting up affiliate fundraisers

Setting up affiliate fundraisers

Access: Service Administrator

Fundraisers using Kindo Affiliates are a great way to raise money without the hassle.

Once you have set up the link on your Kindo home page - and advertised - the affiliate will take the orders, take payments and send the items either directly to a home address or to you for distribution.

View our Current Affiliates page for a list of our current affiliates and what they offer.

INVITING AN AFFILIATE

Once you have chosen one of our affiliates to work with on fundraising for your school or club, please contact helpdesk@kindo.co.nz for current affiliate contact details. Follow the steps below to invite the supplier to work with your organisation.

1. On the partner website, select service manager.

2. On the right-hand side of the screen, select Invite or Register new supplier.

3. Select Invite supplier from the pop-up box.

4.  Complete the details you have received from our helpdesk and Send Invitation.

5. Kindo will email you once the supplier has accepted your invitation so that you can set up the Service on your Kindo shop.

6. You will need to contact the company directly to discuss:

  • First and last days for taking orders (i.e. agree the length of your fundraising initiative)
  • Delivery date for orders
  • Order delivery (i.e. will delivery be direct to home address or to school)
  • An image to use for your home page service icon (must be a square jpeg image under 5MB).

CREATING THE HOME PAGE SERVICE

When an affiliate has accepted your invitation and you have discussed the dates for the fundraiser, it is time to set up the service on your Kindo shop.

1. On the partner site, select service manager.

2. Click on Add new and enter the name of the service.

3. Select the service icon from the popup box.  Either choose one of our icon pictures or upload the one the affiliate sent to you or use.

4. Select add / remove categories

Find the name of the supplier you are working with, then select the category or categories that you have agreed to sell in your Kindo shop.

If you are unsure which ones you have agreed to, contact either the affiliate or helpdesk@kindo.co.nz.

5. Set dates for your service under Availability. The service will "close" at midnight on the last day of the service
(In this example below, no orders will be taken after 11.59pm on Monday 1st April).

6. Save & Publish to make your fundraising initiative visible on your Kindo shop.

In this example, we set up a Service called 2024 Fundraiser, we selected categories: Garfield Movie Ticket, Yearbook and School Bags that had been set up by the supplier, and under that category are the items we agreed to sell
The caregiver can click Add to cart. They can then select which child the order applies to.
Once caregivers check out, the supplier will receive the order and fulfill it.
You will get your portion of the payment at the agreed time (often once the fundraiser is over and orders have been delivered).

ADVERTISING

The most important thing to do to ensure you get the maximum benefit from your fundraising is to advertise.

1. Go back into the service you created in the Service Manager and click generate shareable link.

2. Copy the link that is generated and use it in all your electronic communications where you talk about the Fundraiser - your website, emails to parents, e-newsletter etc.

At Kindo, we also offer a Community Shop, where you can advertise to your community and not just caregivers registered at your school. For more information about Community Shop, please visit Kindo Community Shop.

3. When communicating information about the fundraiser be very clear about the ordering window and delivery dates.

HIDING AN AFFILIATE ITEM

If there is an item under the category created by the affiliate that you do not want to offer in your shop, use the Enable/Disable function.

1. Go into the Service you created on the partner site.

2. Click on the Enable & Disable Items arrow beside the category you added.

3. This will bring up a list of all the items currently available in your shop, listed by supplier.

Untick the items you do not want to show, e.g. we have "hidden" Yearbook - pick up from office.

4. Click Save & Publish to make the changes visible on your shop site.

CHECKING ORDERS

If you would like to know how sales are going for your affiliate fundraiser, or need assistance with anything else please email helpdesk@kindo.co.nz and they will be able to help you.
