SMS groups and Kindo for teachers
Please note - this information is relevant for schools using Kamar, Edge, Helix and Hero.
Information for teachers or other staff who use SMS groups where charges are applied using Kindo Payables.
Kindo imports up-to-date data
directly from your SMS. This includes groups, which are visible in a ‘view-only’
format in Kindo (group membership cannot be edited in Kindo).
This information updates hourly, on
the hour (or overnight for Hero schools).
School admin / finance staff can use
these SMS groups to apply charges.
To ensure that all charges are applied correctly, please
ensure that the membership of your SMS groups is kept updated as needed. This
includes both adding new students, and removing those who are no longer
relevant.
Examples might include tournament
fees for a water polo tournament, or ticket costs for an optional drama trip.
If a new student is added to the SMS group for the water polo tournament, admin staff will add the charge for
the student (using their Payable Maintenance page).
If a student is removed from the Kamar
group for the optional drama trip their charge can be removed (and refunded if
necessary, according to school policies and sport/extra-curricular registrations).
Please communicate with your admin/finance staff as needed.
