Available Report Types
Kindo offers three comparative report types that allow you to analyse payment data across different time periods:
1. By Category and Year
This report displays applied details for each payment category broken down by year. This lets you compare categories side by side across multiple years to identify trends and patterns in your school's payment data.
2. By Category and YTD
This report type allows you to choose an end date and view applied details for each payment category up until that date across multiple years. This is particularly useful for comparing dollar amounts and percentages from the same time frame over multiple years (e.g. comparing Term 1 data across several years).
Note: The YTD report includes all data up until the end date you select, including any payment requests applied before January 1st of each year. For example, if your school applies a 2025 camp fee at the end of 2024 to give caregivers more time to pay, this will be included in the report to ensure you have a true view of how payment requests are tracking up until your specified date.
3. By Year Level for Single Category
This report allows you to analyse a single payment category across different year levels. It provides a detailed breakdown of how a specific payment type (such as donations, camp fees, or activity costs) is performing across different year levels in your school. This helps you identify patterns or issues within specific year groups for a particular payment category.
Perspective Options
Both the 'By Category and Year' and 'By Category and YTD' reports offer perspective options that allow you to choose how to view your payment data:
Outstanding Perspective
This view shows data in terms of Outstanding $ and % amounts. It helps you focus on payments that have yet to be collected and identify areas that may need attention.
Paid Perspective
This view shows data in terms of Paid $ and % amounts. It allows you to analyze successfully collected payments and understand your revenue patterns.

These perspective options give you the flexibility to report in the way that best suits your school's needs and financial analysis approach.

This makes it easy to identify trends, spot areas of concern, and track your school's payment collection success over time.
There is also a export option for all reports, which will download an xlsx for sharing or editing.
Tips for Using Comparative Reports
- Year-end Analysis: Use the "By Category and Year" report to compare full years of data for annual reporting and budgeting.
- Seasonal Comparisons: Use the "By Category and YTD" report with specific end dates to compare the same time period (e.g. first term) across multiple years.
- Year Level Analysis: Use the "By Year Level for Single Category" report to identify which year levels may need additional follow-up for specific payment categories.
- Board Reporting: Switch between perspectives to present the data that best suits your board's reporting requirements.
- Forecasting: Use historical data patterns to predict future payment collection rates and plan accordingly.

We recommend using
Payable Categories for all payment requests to ensure you are able to compare across years as well as drill down to each category.
